Welcome to Carthage High School!

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to lead Carthage High School and work with the exceptional students, qualified and hard-working staff members, and supportive community surrounding our school! 

On a personal note, I grew up in southwest Missouri and began my educational career in 2000, teaching and coaching in the Carthage R-9 School District. During my time in Carthage, I taught junior high and high school FACS, coached multiple sports, and served 4 years as high school assistant principal. Carthage R-9 School District has provided me not only a rewarding career, but a place for both my children to receive a top-notch education while developing the skills necessary to thrive at the next stage in life. As principal, I’m eager to give future Carthage Tigers that very same opportunity; to lead initiatives and continue to establish educational programs with student learning as the focus. 

At Carthage High School, we embrace the many opportunities to partner with the students, staff members, teachers, administrators, and parents to make education happen for each student. Student academic and extracurricular success can only reach its fullest potential when we work together. Through curricular and extracurricular activities, together, we will continue providing a quality learning environment with a goal of preparing all CHS students for college and/or future careers. Please join us in this endeavor to ensure each student’s experience at Carthage High School is meaningful and rewarding.
