Virtual Learning

ABOUT VLC

Carthage High School offers several online courses through the Virtual Learning Center (VLC) for high school students in a seated classroom. This style of learning is different from the traditional classroom; however, it can be a great option for some students. While many students are enrolled for credit recovery, it can also help with scheduling conflicts and needed electives. Virtual learning is offered to Carthage High School students with approval of the student's school counselor.

  • VLC provides the opportunity to work on lessons in the VLC classroom and during the school day, if time allows, with teacher approval.
  • VLC allows students to get caught up if they get behind on credits or offers the opportunity to graduate early.
  • VLC helps when scheduling problems occur.

 VLC RULES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • A cell phone locker is available, if needed, to decrease student distractions.
  • All classes must be completed in a semester (18 weeks timeframe), but some classes can be completed in less than 18 weeks, which allows for additional classes to be assigned.
